The Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code took effect July 1, 2026. New construction and certain exterior projects may require additional site planning and fire-conscious material selections. Routt County applies Class 2 requirements countywide. Existing homes are not automatically required to retrofit simply because they are occupied or sold.
